Sweet Small Town Charm
I just returned from a lovely time in the charming and very small town of Cape Charles, VA. Have you heard of it? This town hit my radar when I started seeing photographs of the “Love” sign. If your not from Virginia, these love signs have popped up all around the state as a symbol of our state motto “Virginia is for lovers.” This place REALLY came on my radar after my fabulous photographer bought a house and started posting the most beautiful pictures on Instagram. So long story short, my dear friend invited me to join her at my photographers home. Everything about the 3 nights was perfect, the house, small town vibe, calm ocean waters, the sunshine and of course the company.
While Cape Charles might not be on everyone’s radar, I think it's important to put a small town destination on your list. They are great for quick weekend getaways and ultimately slow down your pace of life.
In 2018, Coastal Living voted Cape Charles #3 top small beach town in the whole US. This sweet town is located at the tip of Virginia’s Eastern Shore near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. It was originally a terminal for ferries that took passengers and cars across the Bay and later it became a terminal for railroad freight. Now it serves as an escape from life with cute brickfront stores, public beach, yummy seafood and a highly ranked golf course.
